• Shortcuts integration into Spotlight in macOS Tahoe is quite amazing. EntityQuery support could be improved but this a great way to trigger app actions quickly. If you have a Mac app, do add support for #AppIntents.

• Apple should totally ditch the proprietary nature of #AppIntents and instead each app with intents should expose them through a mini #MCP server. Free all those actions from the confines of Siri and Shortcuts, and let apps freely trigger and combine each others’ actions.

  That is how app integration with AI should be done. Lightweight and flexible and leave it to the user or an LLM to string things together. None of the madness and fixed structure of all those* hand crafted app intent domains, protocols and enums.

  Sure, #MCP as a protocol is quite flawed, but it can be pretty exciting to converse with Claude about your apps' local content and trigger sequences of actions. It's what Apple promised at #WWDC 24 but failed to deliver so far. I'm really curious what they'll show in two weeks time.
