Haven't been keeping up much with #WWDC build-up so far, but are there no one-on-one virtual tech labs this year? That was the best part. What a bummer.
The schedule is pretty clear that it's just marketing & App Store appointments this year... https://developer.apple.com/wwdc26/schedule. Dang.

Apple should totally ditch the proprietary nature of #AppIntents and instead each app with intents should expose them through a mini #MCP server. Free all those actions from the confines of Siri and Shortcuts, and let apps freely trigger and combine each others’ actions.
That is how app integration with AI should be done. Lightweight and flexible and leave it to the user or an LLM to string things together. None of the madness and fixed structure of all those* hand crafted app intent domains, protocols and enums.

With #wwdc a bit over a month away, it's a good time to start a document with questions about existing frameworks for the one-on-one labs, and create a list of things/radars to test when the first betas drop. It's easy to otherwise forget about those issues and workarounds that have accumulated over the past year in the excitement of the new announcements.

Congrats to the lucky recipients of colourful #wwdc tickets. Sad trombones for the recipients of plain text rejections.

The design labs at #WWDC are always my favourites. I am getting so much meaningful feedback out of those 25-30 mins — plus is such a morale booster, too.

Please make MapKit work with #VisionPro! I'd love an interactive 3D globe, or a slice of 3D terrain to which you can add annotations, lines and overlays. #WWDC
Something like this example from the State of the Union, but powered by #MapKit. Hope this will be one of the sample apps.

Was the Maps app included in the list of apps supported by #VisionPro? That would be absolutely stunning. #WWDC

Alright. That's a wrap. #WWDC

#Mastodon question: If I mark a toot as unlisted and use a hashtag, does it appear in the home feed for people who follow that hashtag?
Judging by this comment from Gargron, I think unlisted toots will NOT show up for people who follow the hashtag: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/5463#issuecomment-350572440 (though the comment predates that feature)
Bit of a shame as that means Apple developers around the globe will have no choice but flood their local timelines with #WWDC messages.

0.5 sleeps till #WWDC.
As much as I like living in Sydney, the timezone can be a pain.

With #WWDC around the corner, I've cleared my deck and wrote up my thoughts on Microsoft's Build conference. Interesting guidance for adding #LLMs to apps and the upcoming tools in Azure do look like promising building blocks.

Framework Sherlocking at WWDC 2019
WWDC is lovingly referred to as “Christmas for Apple Developers” and, goodness, was it a Bescherung this year! Apple has been hitting it out of the park at this year’s WWDC. While in the past many developers have been worried... more…
