Longplay for #visionOS is approved. I considered charging separately for the immersive experience, but I just don’t feel comfortable charging for something that I can’t support due to the US-only rollout. So it’s just part of the same universal purchase. Anyone got a USDZ of a tip jar that I can put in it? 🙃

🥳 Happy Thursday! I’m excited to release the big 2.0 update to my album player @longplay today.
Where 1.0 focussed on discovery and the album wall, 2.0 focusses on the listening experience and organising your albums.
There's a now playing screen, album shuffle, CarPlay and more. Free update for existing users.
Read about the story behind the update and what's next:
https://adrian.schoenig.me/blog/2023/08/31/longplay-2.0/I wouldn't have gotten to this by myself. So it's time for kudos!
Thanks to all the beta testers for their feedback. The many kind words let me push through phases of low motivation. In particular special thanks to @nier for his invaluable and detailed feedback, and helping fine tune the behaviour of that fun shuffle button.
Also thanks to @ivanski for his detailed feedback on the initial release, which inspired quite a few under-the-hood improvements in 2.0.
Many many thanks to @stroughtonsmith, @jsnell, @marcoarment, and everyone else who helped spread the word on the initial release, which really helped a lot. Marco, sorry to keep you waiting so long for a Now Playing screen.
Thanks also to fellow music app developer @adamlinder for the kind exchanges and his App Store review-related suggestions. If Longplay isn't quite for you, @albumstheapp probably is!

It's a few year's old by now, but @aleen’s App Launch Map is still a fantastic resource and reference guide for when it's time to launch an app or update: https://applaunchmap.com/

Trying out canny.io to capture feature requests for my Longplay #IndieApp: https://feedback.longplay.app
Looks nice and it has a generous free offering. Much better than my previous manual way using GitHub issues.
It was a good run with canny.io but it’s time to look for a new feature-voting tool. They are hard retiring the plan I am on and the new bill will be US$161 a month.
No, sorry, for a passion project of a single person, that does not “reflect the value you’re getting from Canny”. It makes no sense to be charged monthly, indefinitely, for every single person who sent in feedback even just once. I don’t need unlimited collaborators; it’s just me. I don’t need an AI autopilot; I like engaging with my customers myself, thanks.
Fider looks like a solid choice, as does Changemap. Any suggestions?
Going with Upvoty. Simple, good feature set, reasonably priced, and they were helpful and very responsive with importing data from Canny.

It’s so rewarding when working on something for a long time and the different pieces snap together:
Maparoni now supports Home Screen widgets on iOS and macOS. The data can come from web APIs, be transformed, filtered and visualised using formulas, can use your current location, and then be plotted as mini maps that are updated dynamically.
So cool. WIP on https://maparoni.app/download.html. Feedback and boosts appreciated.
